Jaipur has got everything that an enthusiastic traveller could ask for – history, rich culture and of course food. It is surrounded by the old royal architecture on one side and the modern infrastructure on the other.
A trip to Jaipur is rather incomplete without digging into the world-famous Rajasthani food. Whether you are craving for dal bati churma, Kadhi Kachori, it is a foodie’s paradise. Here is the list of 6 best eating places in Jaipur that we tried and are definitely worth a visit.
1. Anokhi Cafe
Nothing Indian, all international. Anokhi cafe is one of its kind when it comes to food. Not only it has a wide variety of fresh and healthy international flavours but also this cafe worth a visit for its ambience too. A minimalist approach to the decor and fresh crunchiness in every single bite of its pumpkin salad is what all I needed after a busy sightseeing day in Jaipur. Being a coffee lover, I just couldn’t afford to miss its freshly brewed french press with a hint of milk. I would recommend you guys to take some time out to visit its clothing store which is adjacent to the cafe. Expect rates to be on the higher side for the home decor items in Anokhi store.
Must-Try – Pumpkin Salad, Hummus Sandwich
Cost For Two – Rs 1500 approx
2. Meraki Kitchen & Bar
By far one of the best restaurant in Jaipur that I have visited during my trip. Not only the food was delicious but also the pricing was very reasonable. Sitting under the stars while blazing bonfire was keeping us warm in December. It is a perfect package for a date night that too without burning a hole in your pocket. A little advice is to book your table a few hours before going there so that you won’t have to wait.
Must-Try – Mezze Platter, Tandoori Broccoli, Tomato Basil Soup
Cost For Two – 1500 approx.
3. Choki Dhani
Man-made village experience. Choki Dhani is located 20 KM away from the city centre. Other than the gourmet vegetarian thali, you can enjoy the magic and puppet shows, Rajasthani dance, Heena and future tellers. I would recommend to be there at 6 PM and book a return cab for this trip.
Must-Try – Royal Rajasthani Thali
Cost For Two – 1400 approx.
4. Peacock Rooftop Restaurant
‘Breakfast On Terrace’ was something on my mind that I wanted to experience during my Jaipur trip. We visited this place at 9 AM in the morning, and it took us almost 15 minutes just to locate this cafe in a housing colony. It was an average cafe when it comes to food and service but if you are looking forward to having long coffee conversations with your partner then you can check it out.
Must-Try – Paranthas
Cost For Two – 1000 approx.
5. The Forresta Kitchen & Bar
Covered with long trees the restaurant was quite spacious with outdoor and indoor seating arrangements. First, we sat outside for some fresh air and sunlight but due to some construction going on that time we moved inside. The ambience and food were up to the mark. This place would be much more fun in the evening than in the afternoon.
Must Try – Spring Rolls, Baby corn
Cost For Two – 1800 approx.
6. Blue Tokai, Jaipur
Coffee enthusiasts looking for some good coffee in Jaipur should definitely visit blue Tokai Cafe. Blue Tokai has made its name in a short period not just in Delhi but also in other cities. The earthy blue decor and large glass walls gave us a perfect selfie background while the chocolate sea salt mocha and crispy french fries made our day. Also, don’t forget to get your hands on some good quality chocolates from their counter.
Must Try – Sea Salt Mocha and Peri-Peri Fries
Cost For Two – 1500 approx.
