Early in the morning when the sky was still covered with dim lights of stars and sun was trying best to unleash its shine, I unfolded the curtains of my window and saw a yacht sailing right across my room in the famous Bosphorus River. I was staying at one of the best hotels in Istanbul , The Swiss Hotel, guarded by the long and bright coloured tulips and surrounded by the blue waters of famous Bosphorus, it is an ideal place to stay if you are looking to experience nature’s beauty at its best.

Getting There

It is centrally located, 40 KM away from the new Istanbul Airport, in the vibrant Nisantasi shopping and business district. It took us 70 minutes to reach the hotel since it was the busy weekday and just like any city – it was super-crowded. The hotel has convenient access to all the famous historical monuments, also good bars and restaurants are easily accessible from the property.

The Hotel

It has got everything that one can expect from a 5-star luxury hotel. The extravagant lobby area to relax while having a cup of authentic Turkish tea, accessibility to the tourist attractions. The hotel also has designer studios and the beautiful flowers boutique from where you can buy the exotically flowers to celebrate your special occasions.

The Room

Our view was surrounded by the scenic Bosphorus river, minarets and the beautiful gardens. The room was spacious with all the basic amenities. The interior of the room was modern but the Ottoman style carpet was giving the authenticity of Turkish culture. The cosy sofa in the corner and a coffee bar will come in handy after a long flight. The bathroom was quite spacious and designed with white marbles.

The Food

Every day we had our breakfast at the Sabrosa, which was a palatial dining hall with enough variety of cheese, cereals and honey to satisfy your tastebuds. The live kitchen station and the open buffet was full of delicate flavours. The courteous staff were re-filling the ‘Tulip Shaped’ teacups with the warm Turkish tea for the guests who were too busy enjoying the delicacies of Turkish cheese and olives. They also have the city’s best rooftop bar called “16roof” which looks amazing in the night.

The Activities

Fully equipped gym for the fitness freaks, Tennis court to enjoy tennis match with your family, swimming pool to relax, Hot sauna and Hamam experience were the activities to name a few.

Find an occasion and pamper yourself with Turkey trip. Special thanks to Swissotel The Bosphorus for such warm hospitality.
